Multiwavelet Evaluation in Image Watermarking

Multiwavelet transform has received attention in image watermarking because it is possible to construct multiwavelets that simultaneously possess desirable properties. Since the choice of appropriate multiwavelet basis is a critical issue that affects the quality of the watermarked image and the robustness of the watermark, we selected five different multiwavelet bases in this paper to evaluate their performance. The evaluation is performed under a spread spectrum image watermarking framework from the view point of quality of watermarked image and robustness of the watermark. The robustness is demonstrated using the criteria of the StirMark benchmark test. This evaluation could help the designer to predict the performance of a given multiwavelet watermarking system.
